THE PRACTICAL ANSWER

Choose against your actual channel mix. DTC packing, retailer compliance and marketplace replenishment need distinct instructions even when they use the same inventory.

Separate the order types first

Order typeQuestions for the warehouse
DTC parcelWhich orders release, what packaging is used and how does tracking return?
Wholesale case or palletWhat case quantities, documents, labels and carrier rules apply?
Retailer orderWho owns the vendor guide, appointments, portal work, ASN and label approvals?
Marketplace replenishmentWhich program rules, prep instructions and shipment references must be followed?

A broad statement that a provider handles B2B is less useful than a walkthrough using your purchase order and current routing guide.

Make system ownership explicit

  • Name the source of sellable stock and the warehouse location mapping.
  • Document unit, case and bundle conversions.
  • Test cancelled, changed, duplicate and partial orders.
  • Agree when the warehouse may act and when the client must approve.

Use a small set of representative tests

Choose orders that expose the differences: one simple parcel, one bundle, one retailer shipment and one return if those are relevant. Record the expected label, stock movement and tracking outcome before testing. This is an example test set, not a claim about an existing customer.

Review the operating agreement

FlexHub scopes preparation and connections for the account. Its current partner-supported workflows are separate from the new proprietary WMS. Managed retail selling also requires a FlexHub 3PL relationship and a separate distribution contract.

PUT THE GUIDE TO WORK

Start with your actual operation.

Bring the product, order or system details behind your question so the team can review the relevant scope.
