A useful distribution brief connects product relevance with inventory readiness and approval authority. More retailer names cannot substitute for a range that fits the buyer’s needs.
Choose the objective before the channel
Decide what your brand is trying to achieve: a new buyer type, a suitable outlet for a range or another route alongside existing sales. Keep that objective separate from a promise of a particular retailer, door count or sales outcome.
Use a channel-planning worksheet
| Brief field | What to record |
|---|---|
| Product relevance | Who uses the product and why the assortment fits. |
| Pack and stock | SKU, unit/case configuration, quantities and relevant shelf life. |
| Commercial context | Brand pricing guidance, restrictions and required approvals. |
| Existing exposure | Where the product currently sells, supported by accurate information. |
| Operating readiness | Storage, preparation, routing and fulfillment requirements. |
This is an illustrative planning worksheet, not a claim that any listed product is available or retailer placement is secured.
Let the sales work connect to the warehouse
Buyer questions can expose missing product data, packaging requirements or stock constraints. The 3PL operation helps keep the sales conversation connected to the inventory supporting the order. Do not describe a unit, case or available quantity ambiguously.
Apply for FlexHub-managed distribution
You must be a FlexHub 3PL client. A separate agreement defines the sales work and commercial responsibilities. FlexHub manages outreach and coordination for suitable opportunities without purchasing the inventory; buyer approval determines whether an order proceeds.
Start with your actual operation.
Bring the product, order or system details behind your question so the team can review the relevant scope.
